SAENA with great regret and sadness informs you that the Professor Emeritus Takeyuki Kamimoto passed away on Tuesday 28 August 2018.
Prof. Kamimoto, Take for all of us, left a mark on the lives of our entire community and leaves an indelible sign in our hearts.
A great friend and a great scientist. So caring, kind, and always present in our lives.
So reserved and discreet that the news of his death on Tuesday 28 August 2018 finds us unbelieving.
On behalf of the SAENA we express to all those who loved him, deep sorrow for the death of the friend and teacher of all of us.

14th International Conference on Engines & Vehicles
Capri, Napoli (Italy) September 15-19, 2019
The aim of the conference is to create a forum to promote the cooperation between industry, research laboratories, and universities for the development of innovative propulsion systems for future vehicles. Following the success of the last edition in 2017, the International Conference on Engines & Vehicles ICE2019 will take place in Capri, Napoli (Italy) next September 15-19, 2019. ICE2019 encourages the exchange of scientific and practical knowledge in the main theme of the vehicle and their components. This year ICE2019 is organized by SAENA a section of SAE International with Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CUICAR), SC (USA) and Istituto Motori-CNR of Naples (Italy).
This conference brings together researchers from more than 30 countries providing an exciting international forum to share and discuss new research results focused on improving the efficiency and emissions of engines and vehicles. The final program includes 200 publications that have undergone a rigorous review based on the SAE International standards. These publications cover a broad range of topics including advanced internal combustion engine concepts, conventional and alternative non-conventional fuel technologies, innovative experimental diagnostics, numerical simulation, advanced controls, and the integration of internal combustion engines with electrified hybrid powertrains, and electric-fuel cell vehicles.
In addition, nine international experts on many of these topics have been invited to deliver plenary lectures on the state-of-the-art and future development trends.
The Conference is included in the list of SAE events (http://www.sae.org/events/automotive/) and the approved papers will be SAE technical papers with the opportunity to be selected for SAE Journals.
15th International Conference on Engines & Vehicles
Capri, Naples (Italy) September 12-16, 2021
The aim of the conference is to create a forum to promote the cooperation between industry, research laboratories, and universities for the development of innovative propulsion systems for future vehicles.
Following the success of the 2019 edition, which collected 270 abstracts, 161 papers & 367 participants, ICE 2021 - 15th International Conference on Engines & Vehicles will take place in the wonderful island of Capri from September 12th to September 16th, 2021. ICE 2021 encourages the exchange of scientific and practical knowledge in the main theme of the vehicle and their components.
The conference is organized by SAENA (Italian SAE section) in cooperation with FKFS (Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines - Stuttgart, Germany).
Furthermore this year, for the first time, we will be supported by STEMS (Institute of Science and Technology in Energy and Sustainable Mobility - Naples,Italy), the brand new Institute powered by our institutional partner Istituto Motori-CNR of Naples (Italy), whom will join us, as usual, in the organization of our congress.
This conference brings together researchers from all over the world providing an exciting international forum to share and discuss new research results focused on improving the efficiency and emissions of engines and vehicles. The final program includes only publications that have undergone a rigorous review based on the SAE International standards. Following the past editions, these publications always cover a broad range of topics on the latest trends on engines and vehicles. In addition, international experts on many of these topics have been invited to deliver plenary lectures on the state-of-the-art and future development trends.
The Conference is included in the list of SAE events (http://www.sae.org/events/automotive/) and the approved papers will be SAE technical papers with the opportunity to be selected for SAE Journals.
We believe and we strongly hope that in September 2021, this emergency will be ended and no more restrictions will be in effect, so we can celebrate together the event in Capri, as usual. In case this won't happen we would like to inform you that we will be ready to "switch" the Conference from "live" to "digital" and so the papers accepted will still be valid for ICE 2021
